Smoked salmon producer Suempol is planning a new facility to be located in Pełczyce, Poland.

The company said it is planning to invest in a modern fish processing facility, incorporating modern technology and more advanced safety and environmental considerations. The company said the new investment is part of its long-term strategy to strengthen its position in both the Polish and international markets.

“The new facility will increase the company’s production capacity and create opportunities for the group’s further growth,” the company said. “Approximately 300 people will be employed at the production plant. The facility is scheduled to become operational in Q4 2027.”

The company said it plans to give residents of the region a look at what the future facility will look like by hosting a visit at its main production facility in Bielsk, Poland.

“Participants will be able to learn more about the plant’s operations and the technologies and environmental solutions in use, as well as quality and safety standards, and speak directly with company representatives,” the company said.

Suempol is one of the largest salmon-processing companies in the world and has expanded in recent years through its acquisition of shrimp processor Van Biesen & Pieters in 2025 and its acquisition of Copernus Fresh Fish in 2024.
