Brussels attendance tops 25,600

More than 25,600 seafood buyers and sellers from around the world attended this year’s European Seafood Exposition/Seafood Processing Europe in Brussels, Belgium, event organizer Diversified Business Communications announced on Thursday.

This year’s event featured 1,669 exhibitors from 79 countries as well as 72 national and regional pavilions. Exhibiting for the first time were Lithuania, the Falkland Islands and Yemen. Overall, the exhibitors took up 34,060 square meters of space.

“The European Seafood Exposition and Seafood Processing Europe were tremendously successful this year despite the current economic crisis facing Europe,” said Mary Larkin, Diversified’s VP of seafood expositions. “The continued growth of this combined event shows that meeting face to face matters to buyers and sellers and that Brussels remains a crucial destination for doing business in the seafood industry.”

This was the 20th anniversary of the European Seafood Exposition and the 14th edition of Seafood Processing Europe. For complete coverage of the event from SeafoodSource, click here.

Next year’s event is scheduled for 23 to 25 April at the Parc des Expositions in Brussels.
