Growing rainbow trout producer adds marketing executive

Farmed rainbow trout producer Clear Springs Foods has named Kurt Myers VP of marketing, effective 20 April 2015.

“Kurt brings 20 years of experience working in the food industry, both in marketing and operational roles,” said Larry Cope, president and CEO of the Buhl, Idaho, company.

“He is a strategic thinker and has an excellent grasp of the food industry, both foodservice and retail, and is familiar with the industry players. He possesses strong technical skills and understands the generation of consumers the company will be marketing to in the future. Kurt will work closely with our sales and operating groups to assure that Clear Springs continues to provide excellent products and service to our customers.” 

Myers was formerly employed by the J.R. Simplot Company and has joined Clear Springs to head up marketing initiatives. He is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine, where he earned his MBA; he earned a BA in economics from Occidental College.  

Clear Springs has been actively adding to its roster, adding industry veterans in sales and creating a retail sales arm.
