Ingalls to join Phillips Foods

Christa Ingalls, industry expert and well-known foodservice seafood buyer, will join the team at Phillips Foods in Baltimore as sales manager in May. Ingalls will focus on sales for the Western half of the United States. Recognized for her in-depth knowledge of seafood and experience as a buyer and sales manager, Ingalls will create a strategic plan to lead the Western U.S. sales growth for Phillips.

Her role will be to acquire new customers for Phillips’ crabmeat and seafood products. She will focus on seafood specialty distributors as well as the broadline distributor network. In addition, Ingalls will assist with the growth of Phillips’ fish program as it adds fish selections and species. Ingalls will represent the sales division on Phillips’ internal sustainability evaluation team, called ASSET.

Ingalls joins Phillips after three and a half years as seafood commodity manager with Avendra LLC, where she managed all aspects of seafood for the company including sourcing, price negotiating, compliance and distribution. She worked directly with more than 35 fresh seafood distributors to meet their needs, numerous manufacturers to meet customer specs as well as directly with Avendra’s customers on menu development and program solutions.

Prior to Avendra, Ingalls worked as a seafood specialist for Ocean Beauty Seafoods in Seattle, and as an account executive for Pacific Seafood.
