Iran’s fishery exports hit $145m

Iran exported about 36,000 tons of fishery products, worth around USD 145 million (EUR 108.8 million), during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (20 March to 20 December 2012).

The exports rose by 17 percent compared to the same period in the preceding year, he noted.

Fishery exports stood at USD 123 million (EUR 92.3 million) in the previous calendar year, he added.

He referred to Iraq, the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan, as the main buyers of Iranian fishery products.

In November, 2012, the Mehr News Agency quoted Golshahi as saying that Iran has exported over USD 112 million (EUR 84 million) worth of sea products since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on 20 March.
