Marel appoints managing director of fish

Marel has appointed Sigurdur Olason managing director of the Fish Industry Center as of 1 May.

As part of Marel’s executive team he will report directly to CEO Arni Oddur Thordarson. Sigurdur succeeds Jon Birgir Gunnarsson who is leaving the company.

During the last six years he was business development manager with Samherji, one of Iceland’s leading seafood companies. Olason has an MBA degree from the Brisbane Graduate School of business, a B.Sc. degree in computer science and a B.Sc degree in engineering from the University of Iceland.
