Nordic Naturals launches Kenai Wild fish oil

California-based Nordic Naturals on Tuesday introduced Kenai Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil.

According to the company, Kenai Wild is the first salmon oil that surpasses all international standards for purity, including industry standards set by the Global Organization for EPA and DHA and the Council for Responsible Nutrition as well as ingestion limits set by California’s Proposition 65.
The salmon used in the supplements, which is from Alaska’s Cook Inlet, is also certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council.

“Salmon naturally contains elevated levels of arsenic, which makes purification of this fish oil very important. We test for both organic and inorganic arsenic as well as many other toxins,” said Joar Opheim, Nordic Naturals’ CEO. “After evaluating other salmon oils in the marketplace, we found the need for a wild salmon oil that meets all international standards of purity and freshness.”

Kenai Wild is available in 90-count, citrus flavored soft gels and in 8-ounce liquid. The product contains up to 23 different omega-3 fatty acids and provides more than 500 milligrams of EPA and DHA in each serving.
