It’s almost time for seafood companies and stakeholders to arrive in Barcelona, Spain for the 32nd edition of Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, the world’s premier industry trade show.
Opening on Tuesday, 21 April at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue and running through Thursday, 23 April, the 2026 expo will span more than 52,950 net square meters of exhibition space, with 85 exhibiting countries represented and 65 national and regional pavilions.
New exhibiting pavilions include the Association of the fish products producers "BG FISH" (Bulgaria), Maldives Fisheries & Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation (Maldives), Instituto Yucateco de Emprendedores (Mexico), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates- Madayn (Oman), Infopesca (Uruguay), and the Ministry of Popular Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (Venezuela).
Among the many key industry leaders set to exhibit in Barcelona next week are AquaChile, Balfegó & Balfegó SL, Cermaq Norway AS, Cooke, Escal SA, Frime, Iceland Seafood International, Kyokuyo Co., Ltd, Leroy Seafood Group ASA, Mowi ASA, Multi X, Nordic Seafood A/S, Nueva Pescanova, Parlevliet & Van der Plas B.V., Ricardo Fuentes e Hijos, Royal Greenland A/S, SalMar AS, Samherji hf, Sea Harvest Seafood, Umios, Unima, and Viciunai Group. New companies such as Cheflink Seafood Ltd, Klaas Puul B.V., Mark Foods, Marr Spa, LLC, NTC Wismettac Europe B.V., Pan Euro Foods – Seafeast, PT. Misaja Mitra, Grupo Eurored, and Catalina Food Solutions are also on deck to exhibit this year.
The Seafood Processing Global exhibition area, in Halls 1 and 3, will highlight even more companies involved in seafood processing and services, including Baader, CMA CGM, JBT Marel, Cocci Luciano, AKVA Group Akvaplast, Ace Aquatec, Saeplast, Multivac, Mediterranean Shipping Company, ULMA and more. New companies joining in 2026 include Scanvaegt, Gumusdoga Fish Feed, ECOLAB, NORD Motorreductores S.A., GrupoEurored, and more.
New to the expo this year is the Aquaculture Innovation Zone – a Hall 1 space dedicated to aquatech, AI innovation, and next-generation aquafeed – comprised of eight companies specializing in the sector: AquaBioTech Group (Malta), Bioceanor (France), Nōka AI (USA), LiceDefence AS (Norway) and Sagar Aquaculture (India), Sagare Smart Innovation (Spain), Octona (Croatia), and Qingdao Hishing Smart Equipment Co., Ltd. (China). Swing by the zone on Tuesday, 21 April for the Aquaculture Meet-Up from 16:30 to 17:30 to make meaningful connections with key stakeholders – from hatchery professionals and investors to policymakers and others – in the fastest-growing segment in global seafood production.
A three-day comprehensive conference program will also be featured at the 2026 expo, with more than 20 informative sessions to experience. Upwards of 90 industry experts are slated to speak at the conference, which includes a keynote address from political-financial expert, journalist, and author Dr. Nomi Prins on Tuesday, 21 April from 13:00 to 14:00 in Room 5.1. Prins’ address, “High Stakes, Shifting Tides: The Global Outlook on Seafood, Trade, Economic Pressure Points and Opportunities,” will connect macro forces to daily decisions, from U.S.- China trade tension fallout to evolving E.U. labeling regulations, traceability mandates, energy price swings, and beyond. Special events will run throughout the expo, including the prestigious Seafood Excellence Global Awards on Tuesday from 18:15 to 19:30 in a brand-new location next to the Aquaculture Innovation Zone: the Innovation Theater (Hall 1, Stand #1G601). Thirty-five of the event’s finest products will go head-to-head in the contest, competing for two grand prizes – Best Retail Product and Best Hotel/Restaurant/Catering (HORECA) Product – as well as four specialty honors for innovation, convenience, retail packaging, and seafood product line. The Innovation Theater will also be home to the Oyster Shucking Competition, panel discussions, networking receptions like Connecting Women in Seafood, as well as a series of fireside chats including one with keynote speaker Dr. Prins and SeafoodSource Executive Editor Chris Chase, and another focused on “Navigating Seafood as an Industry Newcomer,” moderated by Deep Dive: The SeafoodSource Podcast host Avery St. Onge.
