Seafood Products Take Home Sofi Awards

The 2008 Sofi Award Winners were announced last week at the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade's 54th Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.

Two seafood products received gold honors. Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co. of Cundy's Harbor, Maine, won for Outstanding Soup, Stew, Bean or Chili for its Smoked Scallop Lobster Bisque and in the Outstanding Pasta, Rice or Grain category for its Port Clyde Lobster Mac & Cheese.

Ducktrap River of Belfast, Maine, also took home two silver awards for its Smoke Roasted Chilean Sea Bass in the Outstanding New Product category and its Smoke Roasted Atlantic Salmon in the Outstanding Perishable Food Service category.

The NASFT's Sofi Awards recognize outstanding food and beverage products in 32 categories of specialty foods. Winners were selected from more than 2,000 entries by a national panel of specialty food industry experts.
