Seafood Summit sponsors announced

SeaWeb has announced the sponsors for the 10th International Seafood Summit.

Organized by SeaWeb’s Seafood Choices initiative, the Summit is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, taking place from 6 to 8 September at the Kowloon Shangri-La in Hong Kong.

The premier sponsors of this year’s Seafood Summit include: FHI 360, Global FISH Alliance, USAID, WWF International, the Global Aquaculture Alliance, High Liner Foods, Loblaw Co. Ltd., The Ocean Foundation, Ocean Park Conservation Foundation - Hong Kong, Swire Trust, Luen Thai Fishing Ventures, Norpac Fisheries Export and Taylor Shellfish Farms.

Financial support from sponsors ensures that the Summit continues these cross-dialogues and is accessible to all stakeholders in the seafood industry. SeaWeb also thanks the Summit’s institutional sponsors, including the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Oak Foundation, the Packard Foundation and the Walton Family Foundation for their longstanding support of SeaWeb.

“The intersection of seafood and society is an important one, especially here in Asia,” said Dawn Martin, SeaWeb president. “Finding solutions to ensure this global resource is made available to a growing global population in a responsible manner is especially important in this geography because of Asia's large role in the global seafood marketplace. We're thrilled to have these sponsors on board to ensure that these topics and more can be addressed and resolved at the Seafood Summit in Hong Kong.”

This is the first time that the three-day event will be held in Asia. Last year’s even took place in Vancouver, Canada, and attracted more than 700 delegates from 31 countries.

Diversified Business Communications, parent company of SeafoodSource, is the official media sponsor of the Summit.
