Stavis Seafoods expands Boston facilities

American seafood importer, exporter and distributor Stavis Seafoods has announced it will take possession of a facility at 310 Northern Ave. in Boston, starting in December 2014.

The space includes a HACCP-certified, refrigerated warehouse about 22,000 square feet in size. According to Stavis, the company will use the space for fresh processing and storage. The acquisition is part of an ongoing expansion that will include new facilities in 2016.

“Stavis Seafoods continues to expand. In the new year, this additional space will help us better serve our customers and allow us to say ‘yes’ to more of their requests,” said Richard Stavis, CEO of Stavis Seafoods. “Over the past year we have expanded our global sourcing reach, added new fresh and frozen seafood items, and added to our facilities and plant capabilities. We are actively building the company to meet the future demands of our customers, as well as the industry as a whole. It is an important step in the overall growth plan of the company.”
