Representatives from seafood processing equipment company BAADER will lead a discussion on the evolving world of fish processing, advancements in automation, and consumer trends titled “Harnessing Technology for Sustainable Fish Processing: Value Every Gram.” Another session on the same topic, “Establishing Equitable, Sustainable, and Accountable Seafood Supply Chains Across Asia,” will feature representatives from Seafood Legacy, Qingdao Marine Conservation Society, and Resonance, who will cover the need for sustainable food systems in Asia – including the risks involved in depleting fishery resources due to illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Another main focus for the 2025 SEA conference program will be aquaculture advancements, innovations, and market access, Diversified said.
“Speakers from FAO, Seafood Legacy, and the National University of Singapore will share data around the growing influence of non-traditional trade provisions on fisheries and aquaculture and how they are reshaping the sector by addressing labor rights, environmental protection, and sustainable development,” it said.
The conference program will also feature three leading aquaculture operators, who will share the latest advancements and innovative projects in the fish-farming industry – providing stakeholders and seafood buyers with insights into the current aquaculture landscape.
Seafood market consumer trends and insights will also be prominently feature at the conference program, including a session on what to expect in the Southeast Asian market in 2026. A panel featuring Åshild Nakken of the Norwegian Seafood Council, Nicolas Brossard of Ocean Consult, Adam Wing of Seafood Scotland, and Nicolas Thériault of the New Brunswick Department of Agriculture will cover how innovative products are reshaping the market – and how the global supply chain will evolve by 2030.
A panel discussion featuring speakers from Seafood Industries Association Singapore, The Fish Farmer, and DNV will also showcase how consumer insights are shaping demand for seafood products in Asia – with a focus on sustainability, traceability, and certification.
“The session will provide valuable takeaways to help companies in the seafood supply chain align products and practices with the evolving needs of today’s consumers,” Diversified said.
