20: East Coast Seafood
(owned by American Holdco), established in 1981, is one of the top American lobster suppliers in the country, boasting a large holding facility on Deer Island, New Brunswick, Canada. The Topsfield, Mass.-based company made a key strategic move in early 2012 when it acquired scallop supplier Seatrade International, one of the leading U.S. scallop processors; the pick-up resulted in one of the fastest-growing companies on the continent. Other products include monkfish, skate and whiting. (East Coast Seafood’s 2013 sales were $276 million, ranked No. 21.)
