The second most read story on SeafoodSource in 2024 was published just weeks ago on 17 December.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) charged a man for illegally harvesting Dungeness crab in the North Sound of the U.S. state of Washington. According to the office, an officer from the department saw an individual crabbing from a local pier and after conducting an inspection found 27 Dungeness crabs, 22 of which were female and, therefore, unlawful to possess. Another four were undersized.

“None were recorded on a catch record card,” the department noted.
