Tradex rolls out DNA testing program

As part of its commitment to eliminate seafood fraud, Tradex Foods on Thursday rolled out a DNA testing program for all of its Sinbad seafood production in China. Sinbad is the Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, company’s signature value-added seafood brand.

Tradex also announced that it now offering to implement a DNA testing program at an additional cost for any private-label customer.

The DNA testing is carried out by ACGT, a DNA sequencing and analysis company based in Wheeling, Ill.
