BioMar Group announced on 10 January that, as of 15 January, it will have a new vice president of its salmon division and a new managing director in Norway.
The two positions were promoted internally from within the group.
The new VP of the salmon division, Patrick Campbell, was previously the managing director of the Scottish business unit, and was also heading the global research and development functions within BioMar Group. He was also one of the main drivers of the company into Australia, and has been working for the company since 1998, according to BioMar.
Håvard Jørgensen, the new managing director in Norway, has been promoted from the position of global research and development director. He has been heading that position since 2015, and also heads the Norwegian industry organization “Sjømatbedriftene.”
“I feel very fortunate that we have been able to allocate two very strong executive profiles to support our focus on the salmon division,” BioMar CEO Carlos Diaz said. “The salmon division comprises a very important part of our business and we consider the division a vital driver of our innovation and sustainability efforts. I look very much forward to continuing the positive development of our products and services within the world of salmon.”
BioMar’s current VP of the salmon division, Jan Sverre Røsstad, is leaving the company after 12 years of heading the Norwegian business unit and the salmon division. According to BioMar, Røsstad will support the new management through a transitionary period.
“I am happy that we are able to make a smooth handover. Jan Sverre Røsstad has been a very important contributor to the development of our salmon feed business and the development of the salmon industry in general,” Diaz said. “We would like to thank him for his 12 years in the company and wish him all the best going forward.”
