Massachusetts-based seafood distributor and supplier Stavis Seafoods is expanding its BOS’N brand with a new full line of Argentine red shrimp products, the company announced on 11 December.
The new offerings – which have been tailored for both foodservice and retail – feature Peeled and Deveined, Easy-to-Peel, and Headless, Shell-On Argentine Red Shrimp “harvested on company-owned vessels and processed in company-owned plants,” Stavis said in a press release.

The BOS’N brand’s latest shrimp additions are unique to the market as they are fully integrated, showing “a direct connection to the fishermen harvesting their seafood on the boat,” according to Stavis.
“This connection provides customers with the simple, clear, and traceable hook-to-plate sourcing solution they demand,” the company said in its press release.
A highly popular and sought-after species by chefs and seafood consumers alike, Argentine red shrimp are known for their red coloring, lobster-like flavor, and quick cook time. Including the species in its latest line launch reflects Stavis’ innovation in business development, CEO Chuck Marble said.
“Stavis Seafoods and our BOS’N brand both have a long tradition of innovation and quality,” Marble said. “Expanding the BOS’N line to include Argentine red shrimp delivers on our commitment to provide responsibly-sourced, high quality seafood to our customers. Sourced and processed by our sister companies, our BOS’N Argentine Red Shrimp provides the direct-from-the-source solution our customers are looking for while also increasing their high-quality purchasing options. These products are a great addition and we are excited to offer them to our retail and foodservice customers.”
The BOS’N shrimp portfolio also includes cooked and raw, peeled and deveined white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) as well as black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) and cold-water shrimp options. In addition to the BOS’N brand, Stavis Seafoods offers a variety of seafood products under the Prince Edward, Foods From the Sea, Boston Pride, Ocean Delight, and ChillFresh brands.
The expansion of the brand comes during an active time for Stavis Seafoods. The company secured approval for its proposal to build a new processing facility in Boston's Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park last month; it also hired two seafood industry veterans, Mohamed Fakira and Allison Roderick, to join its leadership team at the beginning of December.
