Launch of Seafood Map: Global Industry Program to Accelerate Sustainable Seafood | Product

$0.00

Securing healthy food and decent work for an estimated 10 billion people on the planet by 2050 presents new challenges as well as fresh business opportunities. Making seafood more sustainable and production more reliable will promote collective profits, with sustainable sector growth reaching new customers in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

How do we move towards sustainability in markets where there are gaps when it comes to the right incentives? Where do we leverage investments to equip small-scale producers with the latest knowledge tools? How do we work together towards well-managed fisheries and aquaculture production systems on a global scale?

During the expert-led panel, we will launch and discuss the development of a new program from GSSI and IDH, the Sustainable Trade Initiative.

Seafood MAP – Measuring and Accelerating Performance of global seafood supply – supports non-certified local seafood producers to become more sustainable. A joint roadmap and common language based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and FAO Guidelines will allow both producers and investors to support non-certified fisheries and aquaculture to meet the growing global demand for seafood, sustainably.
