Puerto Natales, Chile-headquartered aquaculture firm AquaChile has opened its first branch in the U.S., aiming to further cement its position within its largest export market.

The new branch, located in Medley, Florida, in the Miami metropolitan area, “reinforces the company's strategy to bring its seafood to one of the most dynamic and demanding markets in the world,” AquaChile said in a release.

The branch will have a team of more than 80 people, with sales and administration offices, loading and unloading areas, fresh product storage, and a processing space.

AquaChile said the new branch should help the firm optimize logistics, reduce times between production and delivery, and strengthen established relationships with U.S. customers. Longer term, the Medley office will also drive innovative solutions in distribution and processing, ensuring products of greater freshness and quality for the North American market, AquaChile explained.

Medley was chosen as the office’s location due to its proximity to the Port of Miami and the Miami International Airport, according to AquaChile Regional Manager USA Ignacio Milnes.

“The opening of this Miami branch is a natural evolution in our growth and consolidation strategy in the United States,” AquaChile Commercial Manager Vicente de la Cruz said. “It allows us not only to optimize delivery times but also to diversify our product offer and be closer to our customers, better understanding their needs and raising the quality of the service we deliver.”

To that end, the firm also attended the 2025 Seafood Expo North America, which took place in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A., from 16 to 18 March, in order to inform its clients of the efficiencies coming down the pipeline.

“Our presence at the Boston show was key to consolidating our growth and continuing to develop relationships with our customers around the world,” de la Cruz said. “In 2025, our focus has been on continuing to expand in both species [coho and Atlantic salmon] and strengthening our product offering, always ensuring the highest standards of quality and sustainability.”

AquaChile brought in net profits of USD 135 million (EUR 131 million) in 2024, surging 229 percent from 2023’s total of USD 41 million (EUR 39.8 million). Its operating revenue reached USD 1.66 billion (EUR 1.61 billion) for the year, up 10.3 percent compared to USD 1.51 billion (EUR 1.47 billion) in 2023. The company’s aquaculture segment achieved an EBITDA excluding fair value of USD 221 million (EUR 214 million), a 17 percent increase compared to 2023.
