Land-based Atlantic salmon-farming firm Atlantic Sapphire has posted improved harvests and biology in Q1 2026 compared to the same period of 2025 and to its prior quarter.
In an operational update posted to the Oslo Børs, Atlantic Sapphire said it harvested 1,504 metric tons (MT) of gutted weight salmon in Q1 2026. That total is up from the 1,183 MT it harvested in Q4 2025 and up from the 1,319 MT it harvested in the first quarter of 2025.
The average harvest weight during the quarter also increased, up to 3.2 kilograms head-on gutted (HOG) in Q1 2026 compared to 2.9 kilograms in Q4 2025 and up slightly from the 3.1 kilograms HOG it realized in Q1 2025.
Atlantic Sapphire also reported increased net biomass gain, reaching 1,859 MT of live weight gain in Q1 2026, up from 1,683 MT the prior quarter and 1,449 MT in Q1 2025. Standing biomass at the end of the quarter was 3,420 MT – down slightly from the 3,437 MT it had in Q4 2025 and up from the 2,997 MT it had in Q1 2025.
Atlantic Sapphire recently secured new financing amid a cashflow crunch that it said was being caused by the timing of improvements to its operational systems. The company said it is positioned to complete its turnaround efforts, and the funding will help it achieve 7,000 MT of harvests in 2026.
