Inge Andreassen replaces Einar Gustafsson as the head of American Seafoods

Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.-based American Seafoods has announced Inge Andreassen as its new CEO. 

He is replacing Einar Gustafsson, who served in the CEO role for just over two years.

“[Andreassen's] in-depth knowledge of the industry, at-sea production, and management and leadership skills have made him one of the most highly regarded and uniquely qualified operating executives in the seafood industry,” the company said in a release.

Andreassen began his career as a deckhand on factory trawlers in Norway and the Bering Sea. He spent 12 years as a fisher on these vessels, working his way up to factory manager, where he supervised a team of 150 people and managed all aspects of processing, including quality control, freezing, storing, shipping operations, and maintenance. He has been with American for over 30 years, where he has served as director of operations, vice president of operations, and as COO.

American Seafoods is a U.S.-based harvester of Alaska pollock and Pacific hake, operating seven vessels capable of producing up to 150 metric tons (MT) of seafood daily. In 2023, it caught more than 250,000 MT of Alaska pollock and 70,000 MT of Pacific hake.
