Tidal appoints Johan Fredrik Platou as customer insight manager; Ace Aquatec Chile hires Gonzalo Eduardo Boehmwald Trigo as general manager

– Bergen, Norway-based aquaculture technology company Tidal announced Johan Fredrik Platou as its new customer insight manager.

In a release from the company, Tidal said Platou joins with experience in safety and reliability consulting in the oil and gas industry, where he helped operators use data to optimize production, improve asset performance, and support operational decision-making. 

“Tidal has a unique combination of integrated data streams,” Platou said, referencing such technology as AI-driven analytics and autonomous control systems to optimize feeding and improve biological performance. “I really look forward to working closely with customers to translate this into improved daily operations and long-term performance.” 

At Tidal, Platou will support the company’s approach to aquaculture by combining hardware, software, and analytics in a closed-loop system to improve feeding, fish welfare, and farm performance. 

“As aquaculture operations become more complex, turning data into actionable insight is critical,” Tidal Norway Manager Anders Fossøy said. “Johan Fredrik’s experience in data-driven optimization strengthens our ability to deliver measurable results for customers.” 

 – Puerto Montt, Chile-based aquaculture technology company Ace Aquatec Chile announced the appointment of Gonzalo Eduardo Boehmwald Trigo as the new general manager of its LATAM division.

Boehmwald Trigo has 20 years of experience in salmon aquaculture, the company said on LinkedIn, and “brings a strong track record in commercial leadership, international market development, and operational excellence.” Previously, he worked at OXZO S.A. for eight years and AKVA Chile for five and a half years and now replaces Constanza Fontaine Correa in the general manager role, who held the position since April 2024. 

“I am excited to join Ace Aquatec at a time of strong global growth for the aquaculture sector,” Boehmwald Trigo said. “Latin America represents a key region for innovation and sustainable development, and I look forward to working closely with our customers and partners to deliver solutions that enhance productivity, fish welfare, and long-term value.” 

– Jessie Grāef was announced as the new sales director of San Diego, California, U.S.A.-based sushi grade tuna seafood supplier Anova Foods, with a focus on driving market share and increasing consumption of sustainable seafood proteins.

In a post on LinkedIn, Grāef said he will be working on delivering solutions to support customers, strengthen partnerships, and create meaningful impact across the firm’s supply chain and is looking forward to collaboration with partners and teams while the company grows.

Previously, Grāef worked as the senior manager of strategic sourcing at Itasca, Illinois, U.S.A.-based grocery retailer and wholesale support company Topco Associates for just under two years, where he had previously spent a year and a half as a seafood category manager. He also spent more than three years at Hixton, Wisconsin, U.S.A.-based food and beverage manufacturer Superior Fresh as the director of retail sales.  

 – Finn Wiethölter was promoted to sales and manager partner at Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany-based processing equipment manufacturer Baader, where he will be working with North and South American partners.

“Over the past years, I’ve had the chance to gain deep insights into both internal and external processes while working alongside our development teams to bring innovative ideas and solutions forward,” Wiethölter said on LinkedIn. “I’m incredibly excited to now continue this journey from a sales and partnership perspective building – strong relationships, creating new opportunities, and achieving great results as a team.”

Wiethölter has worked at Baader for nearly 13 years, previously as a product manager for three years, a product specialist for two years, and a spare parts salesman for just under six years. He started with the company as an apprentice in August 2013.  

– Reykjavík, Iceland-based salmon-farming company Kaldvík announced Þórunn Ragnarsdóttir as its CFO starting 1 July.  

The company said in a release that Þórunn has extensive experience in financial management, operations, and general management, with past experience as the CFO and director of administration at the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). There, she oversaw finance and administration across Brussels, Geneva, and Luxembourg. She also worked as finance director at Icelandair Ground Services.

Interim CFO Hjalti Hvítklett will remain in the position until 1 July.
