Two seafood products are being recalled in Canada and the U.S. – one for histamine reactions and one for plastic particles present in the product.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based Pcan Inc,. doing business as Cucina Fine Foods, is recalling Vicente Marino brand Anchovy Fillets in Olive Oil due to histamine.

Consumers have reported reactions to the anchovy fillets, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said.

The anchovy fillets, packaged in 80-gram jars, were distributed in the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and possibly other provinces and territories.

The second recall comes from Caledonia, Michigan, U.S.A.-based Big O’ Smokehouse, which is recalling two sizes of Whitefish Spread due to plastic contamination, per Food Poisoning News.

The recalled products, 2-ounce and 4-pound plastic packages, were distributed to 44 retail stores and two distributors in the states of Michigan and Illinois. The packages, Lot Number 1395-5, include an expiration date of 14 July 2025.

Anyone who has the recalled products should contact the company for return or refunds or dispose of them, Food Poisoning News said.
