Multiple retailers in the U.S. have issued a voluntary recall of items containing tuna salad provided by Reser’s Fine Foods due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
Jewel-Osco Stores in the U.S. states of Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa voluntarily recalled a range of items. The company’s recall, according to a posting by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), includes seven different products, including a club sandwich with tuna salad, ready meals with tuna salad and crackers, and a tuna salad croissant sandwich, among others.
The sell-through dates on the products range from 16 July and 17 July through 18 July and 19 July.
Albertsons Companies stores in the U.S. states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas have all also voluntarily recalled tuna salad products from Reser’s for possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, as well. The recalls include Albertsons, Randalls, and Tom Thumb stores in the states.
Similar to the recall at Jewel-Osco, the product was used in several items in the store, including prepared sandwiches and meals, per the U.S. FDA alert. Sell-through dates for the products also range from 16 July and 17 July through 18 July and 19 July.
According to the FDA, there have been no reports of injuries or adverse reactions due to the consumption of the products. The products in question – listed in the U.S. FDA alerts – can be either disposed of or returned to the store for a full refund.
