Since 1956, Bob’s Clam Hut has been focused on serving the “locals’ golden fried standard.” That standard has consistently been a draw for locals and tourists alike, who swarm the business for Maine seafood prepared with “straightforward simplicity,” according to the company.

Alongside its lobster roll dish, Bob’s Clam Hut is celebrated for its New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, its traditional fried clams and famous tartar sauce. And while the recipes at Bob’s remain true to themselves after all of these years, the business has adapted to change where it counts: on the sustainability front.

“While few things have changed at Bob's since 1956, one major shift is a new commitment to the environment and sustainability,” according to the business’s website.  “Recent innovations include implementing composting, changing from paper plates and baskets to reusable plastic plates and switching from plastic to compostable cutlery. As always, our parking lot is not paved, which helps protect adjacent Spruce Creek from harmful runoff.”

The Bob’s Clam Hut lobster roll is served on a grilled roll with french fries and a pickle, and is priced according to the supply of lobster available on the market.
