Wild Alaska salmon processor Circle Seafoods has debuted its Frozen Alaska Pink Salmon Fillets at Sprouts stores nationwide and in H-E-B markets across Texas.
“2025 is off to an exciting start. Circle's ultra-low-temp frozen Wild Alaska Salmon filets have officially made their debut in HEB stores across Texas and Sprouts stores nationwide!” the company announced on LinkedIn
The 12-ounce frozen salmon pouches, which will appear in 23 states, retail for under USD 1.00 per ounce (EUR 0.97), with the company advertising that they are “dye-free, [have] no antibiotics, no hormones, [and are] non-GMO.”
“Why is this a big deal? Because we’re not just slingin' salmon – we’re shaping the future of wild salmon," the company said. "Think fresher fish, less waste and more taste, and a sustainable food system that works for everyone.”
The company is able to keep prices down through a new approach to Alaska salmon processing. It buys fish directly from fishermen at sea. The barge has processing and storage facilities, and after the salmon season ends, it transitions from a fish processor to a transporter and cold storage provider, bringing fish more directly to reprocessing facilities.
Another of the startup’s innovations is that it allows fishermen who are selling salmon to Circle to tie up and use the barge’s amenities, including laundry and shower facilities, high speed internet, and access to hot food.
