Kilmelford, Scotland-based Kames Fish Farming Limited has hired Neil Manchester as its next managing director.
Manchester recently stepped down as managing director of Hendrix Genetics’ aquaculture division.
A family-owned company, Kames Fish Farming produces steelhead trout and operates its own fish-smoking operation at its facility in Kimelford, a village in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The company’s founder, Stuart Cannon, who has served as Kames Fish Farming’s managing director since 1972, will step down from that position and move into the role of chairman in February 2022. At that time, Manchester will take over as full-time managing director.
“Neil has over 35 years’ experience in aquaculture. He began his fish farming career at Kames in 1985, before moving to Landcatch in 1998 and then Hendrix Genetics in 2011. As managing director of aquaculture at Hendrix Genetics, he has been instrumental in developing them as a global leading player in the aquaculture breeding sector,” Kames Fish Farming said in a press release. “We are very pleased that Neil is rejoining our Kames family and we are confident that he has all the right credentials to continue our strategy, development, and expansion of Kames. This is a very exciting and positive step and we look forward to 50 more successful years for Kames.”
The company also announced Ed Gully will remain on the board as a non-executive director through the transition, and that other board members will include Andrew Cannon, Jim Gully, and Allan MacIsaac, who serves as the company’s finance director.
