Lerøy Seafood Group (LSG) harvested 56,200 metric tons (MT) of gutted-weight farmed Atlantic salmon and trout in the third quarter of 2023, representing a year-on-year decrease of 200 MT.
According to the Bergen, Norway-headquartered aquaculture and fishing company’s latest trading update, the volume produced at the Lerøy Aurora sites in the quarter matched that of Q3 2021 at 15,700 MT. Lerøy Sjøtroll’s production climbed 800 MT to 18,600 MT, but Lerøy Midt’s harvest decreased by 1,000 MT to 21,900 MT.
Some 5,900 MT of the total harvest volume in the three-month period was trout, down from 8,400 MT in Q3 2021.
Meanwhile, in LSG’s Wild Catch segment, Havfisk's total catch volume in Q3 2022 was 14,900 MT, representing an increase of 2,600 MT compared with the corresponding period of last year. This total included 4,100 MT of cod, 700 MT more than the volume reported for Q3 2021.

In the first six months of 2022, LSG harvested a total 65,200 MT, gutted, of salmon and trout, which was 13,700 MT less than at the same stage of 2021. Its whitefish landings over the same period increased by 1,700 MT year-on-year to 43,800 MT, including 13,900 MT of cod.
The group previously issued 2022 harvest guidance for its Farming segment placing its Norway production at 185,000 MT, and its expected production from its associates at 23,000 MT, which includes expected volumes from the acquisition of Grieg Seafood Hjaltland UK by its subsidiary joint venture Scottish Sea Farms. LSG estimates its total 2022 harvest volume will be around 208,000 MT.
For the full-year 2021, LSG’s revenue reached a record NOK 23 billion (USD 2.2 billion, EUR 2.2 billion), with operating profits increasing by NOK 69 million (USD 6.5 million, EUR 6.6 million) to more than NOK 2.5 billion (USD 237 million, EUR 239.6 million).
