Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.-based Trident Seafoods and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada-based North Shore Specialty Foods have issued recalls for seafood products.
Trident is recalling a single lot of Pacific Salmon Burgers sold in Costco stores because they may contain small pieces of metal.
“The source of the small pieces of metal hasn’t been identified yet,” the company said in a press release. “Trident Seafoods takes food safety very seriously and is investigating this situation thoroughly.”
There have no reports of injury or illness related to the recalled salmon burgers. Consumers who have the recalled burgers – Lot Number GC101431 and a “best by” date of 01/14/2023 – should discontinue use and return them to Costco for a full refund, Trident said.
North Shore Specialty Foods is recalling Kolapore Springs brand smoked trout products because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum.
There have been no illnesses reported, but there is an “active outbreak investigation,” the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said in a press release.
“The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products,” CFIA said.
