Seafood supplier Ocean Garden, which is known for supplying Mexican shrimp, is launching a new value-added line to retailers in the United States.
The San Diego, California-based supplier is diversifying “to adapt to the needs of the modern consumer with protein sources that offer a convenient time-saving way to enjoy healthy, delicious seafood,” it said in a press release.
One of the new products, Ocean Garden Marinated Shrimp, is available in three flavors: Chili-Lime, Shrimp Scampi, and Cajun Shrimp. The product utilizes untreated, phosphate-free streets and is microwavable. The “microsteam” cooking process ensures the shrimp is ready to eat in around three minutes.
Another new product, Ocean Garden Jalapeño Wrapped Butterfly Shrimp, is an “easy to prepare, premium appetizer at a popular price point,” Ocean Garden said. It includes whole butterfly shrimp, jalapeño, cheese, and crispy breading. Flavors include cheddar or cream cheese.
The supplier’s Ocean Garden Salmon Burgers are made with high-quality Chilean salmon, according to the company. Its Ocean Garden Salmon Fillets are pre-marinated in three flavors: Citrus Bourbon, Chardonnay w/Capers and 7 Spice Rub.
“The new products tout high-quality proteins at a competitive price point,” the supplier said. “Ocean Garden recognizes there is a big opportunity for growth in this underdeveloped category and a need for more delicious convenient ways to prepare seafood.”
