Indonesia: 2020 shrimp sourcing update

In 2019, the total export volume of Indonesia reached 200,591 metric tons, representing a 5.81 percent jump compared to 2018 (189,573 metric tons).

While trade of Pacific white shrimp (L. vannamei) finished strong by the end of 2019, Indonesian shrimp farmers have struggled with low prices since the beginning of 2020, with no certainty as the COVID-19 pandemic crisis progresses across Indonesia.
