Vinh Hoan – Vietnam’s leading pangasius exporter – reported a recovery in sales in July following a month-on-month decline in June, largely thanks to better performance in the U.S. market, according to the company’s latest update.
Its July sales value totaled VND 1.198 trillion (USD 51.2 million, EUR 50 million), increasing 48 percent from the same month last year and up 13 percent from June.
The value of the exports to the U.S., its largest market, was VND 434 billion (USD 18.6 million, EUR 18.2 million), up 32 percent year-on-year and 31 percent month-on-month.
Europe became the second-largest destination in terms of value in the month, with sales hitting VND 200 billion (USD 8.5 million, EUR 8.4 million), 19 percent higher year-on-year, rising 9 percent from June this year.
Sales to China increased both year-on-year and month-on-month, achieving VND 194 billion (USD 8.3 million, EUR 8.1 million) in July, rising 60 percent from the same month in 2021 and going up 22 percent from June.
The company’s sales in Vietnam, including of its noodle, rice paper, and shrimp chips produced by its Sa Giang subsidiary, were VND 177 billion (USD 7.5 million, EUR 7.4 million), jumping 41 percent year-on-year but falling 30 percent from June.
Vinh Hoan’s export value for the remaining markets grew by 189 percent year-on-year, and 41 percent month-on-month, to VND 193 billion (USD 8.2 million, EUR 8 million).
Vinh Hoan earned VND 798 billion (USD 34 million, EUR 33.4 million) from the exports of pangasius products in July, up 44 percent year-on-year and rising 31 percent from June this year. Its byproducts sales in the month were worth VND 211 billion (USD 9 million, EUR 8.8 million), up 69 percent year-on-year but diving 10 percent month-on-month, while its miscellaneous product exports hit VND 76 billion (USD 3.25 million, EUR 3.18 million), a growth of 335 percent year-on-year but down 19 percent from June.
