A deal that would have seen a fish processing plant — and 70 jobs — stay in Port Mouton has fallen through.
“We withdrew our proposal,” said Ian Dempsey, vice president of Bluenose Seafood Inc., in an interview on Tuesday.
Bluenose, a Halifax seafood distributor, had made a proposal to buy the assets of Blue Wave Seafoods Inc., which has CAD 4.9 million (USD 4.4 million, EUR 3.2 million) in liabilities.
