New product offerings for the Asian market will be on display as part of the event's New Product Showcase and Seafood Excellence Asia Awards competition.
Seafood Expo Asia, organized by Diversified and running from 10 to 12 September at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, will feature a range of new products in a number of different formats – including ready-to-eat, value-added, processing equipment solutions, innovative and sustainable packaging, and more. Several products will be highlighted as part of the event’s New Product Showcase, which is limited to a product introduced within the last 18 months, Diversified said. One product on display will be Lian Ruey Enterprise’s Lobster Oil – a flavored oil made from fresh lobster shells that are slowly simmered at a low temperature. The oil contains natural ingredients and can be used to give food a natural umami flavor, according to the company.
Canada-based Oceanmaster Foods International is also debuting a new product called “Uni Paste.” The chem-free product is HPP pasteurized and frozen into a squeeze tube format with a two-year shelf life while frozen and 30-day shelf life when refrigerated.
“The product is in a squeeze tube format to minimize contamination of the product between uses. This is a vast improvement over a jarred or tubbed product, where contamination can easily happen between uses,” the company said.
The product comes from the same creators as UniFresco, which also produced a chemical-free way of preserving uni, or sea urchin roe, to give it a longer shelf life.
Malaysia-based Yeam Seng Frozen Goods & Fishery is planning to exhibit its ready-to-eat “8-Minute Seabass with Thai Lime Sauce.” The new product contains farmed frozen seabass and locally inspired sauces like Sambal Seafood, Asam Laksa, and Thai Lime.
“It’s not only a delicious meal option but also a wholesome choice for health-conscious individuals,” the company said.
Parcs Saint Kerber is planning to showcase its “Trio Oysters.” The product is packaged for retail and contains a tasting of three different oysters grown in the bay of Mont St. Michel, France.
Outside food products, JD5 Hygiene is showcasing its patented “Cool Thorn” cooling mat. The mat is specially designed to display seafood without using ice and provides a reusable display solution that the company said can be used more than 1,000 times.
GB Bernucci, based in Italy, is highlighting its Paper2skin, a paperboard product produced from renewable fibers sourced from sustainably managed forests. According to the company, the new product uses less packaging elements, is fully printable, and can be made in any profile with no size limitations.
D&D Electronics, based in South Korea, is showcasing a disinfectant generator for foodservice facilities and processing plants. The company said its NaOClean “produces activated electrolyzed sodium hypochlorite solution using only water, salt, and electrolysis.” It also said NaOClean requires minimal salt and provides an eco-friendly alternative to traditional chemical disinfectants and has been installed and used in places like schools and military facilities to ensure food safety and manage cross-contamination.
Seafood Expo Asia currently has over 40 products slated for display in its new product showcase – a full list of all products can be viewed on the event’s website.
