Eight finalists have been named in the upcoming 2025 Seafood Excellence Asia Awards, with a winner to be awarded at Seafood Expo Asia – taking place 10 to 12 September in Singapore.
The awards competition will feature live judging of each company’s new product, with the top finalist being given the “Best New Product” award. The event is an extension of the Seafood Excellence Awards, featured at both Seafood Expo North America and Seafood Expo Global, which judges and selects the best seafood products in the retail and HORECA (hotel/restaurant/catering) sectors.
Past finalists of the Seafood Excellence Asia Awards competition include Vinh Hoan’s Lucky Bag retail product in 2024 and Tassal’s Tassie Smoked Salmon Twin Pack 2 x 50g in 2023.
The eight finalists for the 2025 edition of the award include:
- Hong Yu Food Co., Ltd. (Taiwan) – Premium Seafood Dumplings
- Gumusdoga Seafood (Turkey) – Frozen Salmon Trout Fillet
- Lam Kee Fisheries Pte Ltd. (Singapore) – Snow Treasures Miso-Marinated Cod Cube
- Lian Ruey Enterprise Co., Ltd. (Taiwan) – Lobster Oil
- Oceanmaster Foods International Ltd. – PUHA (Canada) – Uni Fresco Paste - Uni Paste
- Shiino Foods Co., Ltd. (Japan) – Shuto
- Vinh Hoan Corporation (Vietnam) – Protein Pho Fusion
- Sincere Food Investment Pte Ltd. (Singapore) – Squid Har Kow
Products are judged according to a number of criteria including innovation, packaging, pricing, and market acceptance, event organizer Diversified said. Judging and tasting will take place on the first day of this year's Seafood Expo Asia. The winner of the award will be announced at the end of day one during the event. Alongside the judged competition, Diversified said all products entered into the competition will be on display at the Product Showcase – located in stand #D19 at Seafood Expo Asia. The products will also be on virtual display on the event’s website.
The event's Product Showcase displays a range of new and featured products in different formats – including ready-to-eat and value-added products, processing equipment solutions, and innovative and sustainable packaging.
The event will also feature a conference program that will include a keynote by leading economist Manu Bhaskaran.
