Deadliest Catch spin-off to spotlight Dungeness crab and Pacific Seafood

A spin-off of the Discovery Channel’s hit series “The Deadliest Catch” will feature fisherman from Pacific Seafood as they work to land Dungeness crab off the coast of Oregon.

Set to premiere on Tuesday, 13 September, “Deadliest Catch: Dungeon Cove” will focus on the Dungeness crab industry, showcasing the ins and outs of what it takes to harvest the sought-after species. Four of the six vessels followed by the TV series have their catch processed by Pacific Seafood Group, which has been involved in the Dungeness crab fishery for five decades.

“Our fishermen battle Mother Nature and competing vessels to maximize their landings and income while bringing these crabs to the marketplace,” said the company in a press release.

Footage for “Deadliest Catch: Dungeon Cove” was shot predominantly in Newport, Oregon. The first episode of the new series will air at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on the Discovery Channel next month.
