Lerøy fills CEO role

Lerøy Seafood Group ASA on Wednesday named acting CEO Henning Beltestad as its CEO.

Beltestad replaces Alf-Helge Aarskog, who about three weeks ago left the Norwegian seafood company to become CEO of farmed salmon heavyweight Marine Harvest.

Since 2008, Beltestad has been a member of the company’s management team, responsible for sales and distribution, and since 2007 he has been managing director of subsidiary Hallvard Lerøy AS. Beltestad, 42, has worked for Lerøy since 1993 and is a Norwegian School of Management graduate.

Lerøy also announced on Wednesday that Stig Nilsen has been appointed executive VP for fish farming. Nilsen, 52, has been managing director of subsidiary Lerøy Aurora AS since 2003. He has many years of experience in the seafood industry, particularly in aquaculture and fish feed.
