The Mazzetta Co. is expanding its lobster offerings by acquiring two key facilities in Nova Scotia, the company announced this week.
Mazzetta subsidiary Beach Point Processing, based at Prince Edward Island, has bought two properties in Clark’s Harbour, Nova Scotia, with a combined total of 6 acres. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The acquisitions, according to Mazzetta, will help expand the company’s existing lobster business at Beach Point and Mazzetta subsidiary Atwood Lobster Co. of Spruce Head, Maine.
“This purchase is consistent with our overall strategy to further vertically integrate our lobster supply chain, diversify our product offerings, and assure live lobster supply 12-months a year,” said Mazzetta Founder and CEO, Tom Mazzetta. “Strategic growth is essential in our ability to keep pace with our customers’ demand for lobster products, and we will continue to pursue opportunities in Canada to further add key assets.”
The acquired properties include two main buildings housing a storage facility with holding tanks, and a warehouse, all on Cape Sable Island, in the Gulf of Maine. The acquisitions will allow Mazzetta to expand storage, processing and shipping capabilities year-round.
The acquisitions consist of two separate properties located in the Clark’s Harbour community on Cape Sable Island in the Gulf of Maine.
