McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants today launched a consumer-education Web site, SeafoodHealth.com.
The site features news articles, recent scientific research and government recommendations regarding seafood consumption and recipes and preparation tips.
"The benefits of eating seafood have been well documented, and we are committed to sharing this information and helping people incorporate more seafood into their diets," said CEO Doug Schmick in a press release. "We are proud to have talented chefs in our restaurants around the country who have developed a collection of recipes that will keep SeafoodHealth.com visitors healthy and satisfied throughout the year. The recipes will feature seasonal and regional dishes to give visitors a wide variety of options when it comes to preparing fresh seafood at home."
McCormick & Schmick's also today kicked off a campaign to encourage consumers to "Eat Seafood Twice a Week." Each week, the Web site will offer two new seafood recipes.
The Portland, Ore., company operates 83 restaurants, including 77 restaurants in the United States and six restaurants in Canada under The Boathouse brand.
