MSC announces Americas office staff change

The Marine Stewardship Council on Tuesday announced Philip Fitzpatrick has moved to a new role in the organization’s Americas office.

Fitzpatrick, who has served as MSC’s commercial director in the Seattle office since 2006, will now work part-time as senior advisor, concentrating more intensively on projects to strengthen the MSC’s commercial program and customer-client experience.

MSC will begin the process of recruiting a new Seattle-based commercial director shortly, Until then, Fitzpatrick will continue to manage the MSC Americas commercial team.

“Phil has been tireless in his efforts on behalf of the MSC over the past three years, and much of the MSC’s commercial growth in the Americas can be attributed to his hard work, his knowledge of the industry and his extensive contacts throughout the seafood supply chain,” said Brad Ack, Americas regional director. “We are pleased that Phil remains committed to the future of the MSC program and to the success of our partners who lead the industry in ensuring seafood is sourced from sustainable fisheries. We look forward to continuing to work with Phil in his new role as senior advisor, which will still allow access to his expertise and experience, while meeting his wishes to spend more time at his Naples, Fla., home.”
