Jacksonville, Florida, U.S.A.-based Shaw Family Seafood has created a new division it has dubbed Shaw Culinary, which will expand the company into offerings outside seafood like meat, chicken, and vegetables.
Shaw Family Seafood – formerly known as Shaw’s Southern Belle Frozen Foods before a rebrand in 2022 – said the new division will introduce new recipes and creations at its U.S. Department of Agriculture-certified production facility.
“This strategic decision is an integral part of our long-term vision to leverage the company’s strengths and capabilities,” Shaw Family Seafood Director of Marketing and Business Development Bluzette Carline said. “For many years, our internal R&D teams have excelled in developing remarkable creations beyond the seafood category. Today, we are excited to formally restructure to harness and market this potential, fostering future growth and profitability.”
The company said as part of its work to expand into a new division, it has invested in its infrastructure and its resources – including in new facilities and technology.
Shaw Family Seafood already offers a range of seafood products, including flagship brands like Mama Belle’s Crab House and retail products like Crab Cakes, Lobster Cakes, Lobster Mac and Cheese, Grouper Burgers, and Stuffed Natural Crab Shells.
The new expansion will bring in other proteins outside seafood, the company said.
“This is an investment to our dedication to evolving with the culinary landscape while staying true to our heritage,” Shaw Family Seafood CEO Howard Shaw said. “We are committed to maintaining the legacy of excellence that Shaw Family Seafood Company has built over the past 90 years while embracing new opportunities and expanding into new culinary horizons.”
