7. Scottish firm making waves in Europe. Intersea Food Scotland, a seafood consultancy company, is seeing major success since opening in 2012. Nicki Holmyard told the story of the company’s accomplishments in her November commentary. Anne Moseley, the company’s founder, explained that a more hands-on approach was needed to help clients, which is how the idea was born to run an off-site sales export department for local companies that couldn’t afford to operate their own. The company operates from a headquarters in the Highlands of Scotland and sells whitefish, shellfish and farmed salmon to retailers, wholesalers, large fishmongers and independent stores across Europe. The company was recognized numerous times throughout 2014, wrote Holmyard, including Export Business of the Year and the prize for Success Through Partnership at the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards.
