Shareholders of AquaChile approved a USD 340 million (EUR 301 million) capital increase at a meeting on 12 February.
The capital will be used to pay down debt incurred by the company’s purchase of Salmones Magallanes. AquaChile acquired the firm, which held Atlantic salmon farming concessions in Region XII, in Chile’s far south, along with Pesquera Eden, for USD 255 million (EUR 218.4 million) in June 2018.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, a previous capital increase of USD 340 million, approved 31 July, 2018, was annulled.
AquaChile, which said it has more than 350 customers in 30 countries, was itself acquired by Agrosuper in August 2018.
