Norwegian halibut-farming company Nordic Halibut has chosen Norwegian Greentech to supply a complete water treatment system for its new facility in Torjulvågen, Tingvoll.

Norwegian Greentech said in a release that the delivery will include both the intake and discharge water and will include an integrated control system to provide real-time monitoring of water quality.

“This contract represents an important step in our continued growth within the aquaculture industry,” Norwegian Greentech Senior Commercial Vice President Børge Gjelseth said. “By delivering a complete solution that includes both process equipment and an overall control system, we contribute to efficient operations in a facility that sets a new standard for sustainable halibut production.”

Nordic Halibut said its Tingvoll facility is actively under construction and is on track to being fully operational in 2027 as it gears up to reach an annual production of 10,350 MT of halibut by 2031.

“It is essential for us to establish a production facility that meets the highest standards for fish welfare, environmental protection, and operational reliability,” Gunnar Brekstad of Nordic Halibut said. “Norwegian Greentech delivers a comprehensive solution that enables strong water quality monitoring and confidence in sustainable production.”

Nordic Halibut, in its Q3 2025 results, posted an increased average sales price and increased harvest weights for its farmed halibut.
