- Portland, Maine, U.S.A.-based Bristol Seafood has hired Briana Warner to serve as the company’s vice president of marketing and strategy.
Prior to her new role, Warner served as the CEO of Atlantic Sea Farms – a Biddeford, Maine, U.S.A.-based seaweed farming company. Warner held the role for five years, and stepped down in January to become a strategic advisor to the brand.
Under Warner’s leadership, Atlantic Sea Farms grew into the largest kelp aquaculture operation in North America, grown by a network of fishermen in New England across 4,000 locations.
“Bristol is a company that I have long admired for their commitment to sustainability and B Corp principles,” Warner said in a release. “I am excited to join Bristol, to help amplify and grow their positive impact on our workforce, community, customers, suppliers and environment.”
Bristol Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Irene Moon said Warner will help the company continue its growth trajectory.
"Since developing our chef-inspired My Fish Dish line of value-added products in 2019, Bristol has continued to innovate with the launch of Seafood Singles packaged for convenience, Cedar Plank developed for the grill, and Grab & Go," Moon said.
Bristol first revealed the My Fish Dish line in March 2019, and found success with the product range during the covid pandemic as consumers increased the amount they cooked from home.
"Today, shoppers can enjoy our products in over 3,800 stores throughout the United States. I’m excited to have Brianna, a true driver of innovation and sustainability, join the company to support our continued growth and innovation in this space,” Moon said.
- Seafood Nutrition Partnership has appointed H-E-B Vice President of Seafood Jason Driskill to serve as the chair of its board of directors, and Cargill Managing Director for Seafood Gustavo Lara to serve as its vice chair.
Driskill overseas procurement, sales, merchandising, marketing, and sustainability for fresh and frozen seafood across the company’s more than 400 locations in Texas and in Monterrey, Mexico. According to SNP he brings more than 25 years of seafood industry experience to the board, and served as the vice chair of the board for the last two years.
“As Vice Chair over the past two years, Jason has launched the ‘Fall in Love With Seafood’ campaign, initiating its first implementation and demonstrating the program’s strong returns,” SNP’s outgoing board chair Paul Doremus, who also serve as the vice president of policy and sustainability strategy at Trident Seafoods, said. “His deep understanding of the evolving retail seafood landscape, commitment to industry collaboration, and vision for increasing seafood consumption will be invaluable as he leads the Board.”
SNP recently announced it is expanding its ‘Fall in Love With Seafood’ campaign after it successfully boosted sales of seafood at participating stores.
Lara also brings nearly two decades of experience in marketing, sales, and business development across multiple companies. He has worked with Cargill since 2016, and started with the company’s animal nutrition enterprise and corporate strategy team before moving on to seafood.
“Gustavo brings extraordinary market knowledge, business discipline, and dedication to science, sustainability, and community engagement to the Board,” Doremus said. “Together, Jason and Gustavo exemplify the creative leadership SNP needs as it scales the national seafood campaign, advises federal policymakers on seafood and nutrition, and educates the public on the growing scientific evidence of the health benefits of a seafood-rich diet.”
