Pacific's Las Vegas plant gets BRC certification

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has issued certification to Portland, Ore.-based seafood processor Pacific Seafood, after the company’s Las Vegas facility earned high marks for food safety and hygiene during a recent inspection.

The company, in a statement, said its auditor confirmed the company received an “A grade” after an inspection of its processing facility on 7 December.

“This certification further assures our customers that they are buying from a company that has raised the bar on sanitation and allergen awareness,” said Anthony Bonick, Las Vegas operations manager .

Established in 1941, the company has grown to include multiple locations in the western United States and Canada. The company has been engaged in an ongoing effort to maintain quality assurance, sustainability and traceability in its products.

The Las Vegas facility processes several species of fish, including salmon and steelhead fillets, as well as shellfish including crab.
