Boston supplier renews Market Basket relationship

Boston Sword & Tuna, the seafood vendor that cut its ties with Market Basket last month due to business interruptions caused by an employee strike over the firing of a longtime executive, has resumed its business with the Massachusetts, U.S.-based retailer.

According to a 28 August post on its Facebook page, Boston Sword & Tuna had resumed shipping seafood to the embattled chain.

“MARKET BASKET IS OFFICIALLY BACK!” the post read on both Facebook and Twitter. “We have been busy packing and shipping orders out to the stores all day. We would like to sincerely thank all of our customers, followers and end consumers for your outstanding support throughout this process. Who's eating fish this weekend?”

The vendor was reportedly one of several seafood suppliers that had claimed Market Basket had fallen behind on invoices only to overpay them at a later date, in some cases by six-figure sums.

Market Basket stores are back in business after a protracted dispute between its previously ousted CEO, Arthur T. Demoulas, and the company’s board of directors, led by his cousin, Arthur S. Demoulas.
