Under a year after its acquisition of seafood brands Mrs. Paul’s and Van de Kamp’s, High Liner Foods continues to focus on convenience in the frozen food aisle by launching fully cooked Sea Cuisine Skillet Meals at the 2026 Seafood Expo North America (SENA), which took place in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A., from 15 to 17 March.
“We say that it is a good platform for growth because it’s addressing a number of pain points that customers have had in the industry, and it allows seafood to be consumed in more locations. So, we’re excited about the growth opportunity there,” High Liner CEO Paul Jewer told SeafoodSource about the launch earlier this year.
The range includes sole, salmon, and shrimp, allowing the firm “to meet a wider range of tastes and preferences,” High Liner Chief Commercial Officer Anthony Rasetta said in a release.
The Sea Cuisine Skillet Meals include Mediterranean-Style Sole Pasta, which features wild-caught sole with penne pasta, roasted yellow and red peppers, and diced tomatoes in a lemon caper sauce; Thai Red Curry Salmon, which has wild-caught salmon with snap peas, red bell peppers, carrots, and brown rice in a Thai red curry sauce; and Chili Garlic Shrimp, which features shrimp with chow mein noodles, broccoli, red peppers, and carrots in a chili garlic sauce.
“We know that consumers are looking for meal options that are easy to prepare, tasty, and high in protein, and this new lineup of meal options is the answer for the perfect, restaurant-quality, easy weeknight meal," Rasetta said.
According to High Liner, 75 percent of consumers want meals that are ready in 15 minutes or less, and 45 percent of consumers want meals that have no prep, are simple, and made in one dish, making the new line perfect for the consumer seeking convenience.
The Skillet Meals will be available across the U.S. this June, with broader North American distribution to come later.
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada-based High Liner also recently expanded its partnership with Guinness to include Sea Cuisine Guinness-Battered Fish Strips and Shrimp products, available in grocery and club stores across the U.S.
