The U.K. Seafish Authority has reprised its national Seafood Week after a seven-year absence from the calendar with the aim of getting more people to eat more fish, more often.
Seafood Week was run from 2001-2008 to highlight key messages about enjoying seafood and promoting the benefits of eating at least two portions per week. 2008 was the last year it was run, at which stage it had been expanded to Seafood Fortnight.
A key component of the new Seafood Week will be a website, hosted by Seafish, that allows retail, foodservice and processor partners to promote their products free of charge as part of a daily promotion. Each day the site will highlight seafood recipes, restaurant seafood dishes and in store products that consumers can “cook, try or buy.”
Seafood Week 2015 will run from Friday 9 October through to Friday 16 October.
