Multiple U.S. restaurants, and even furniture retail company IKEA, are rolling out new seafood specials as they update their menus for the spring.
Fast-growing Mediterranean cuisine chain Cava, which operates over 450 locations, is introducing its first seafood offering, Glazed Salmon, on 20 April.
“With this launch, Cava continues to deepen its Mediterranean roots, highlighting the bold, vibrant flavors that define the cuisine. Glazed Salmon reflects that brand’s commitment to expanding its menu with ingredients that balance quality, flavor, and nourishment, delivering a new way for guests to eat well without compromise,” the Washington, D.C., U.S.A.-based chain said.
Adding salmon to its menu isn’t about just adding another protein option, according to Cava Co-Founder and Chief Concept Officer Ted Xenohristos, who said it’s about expanding how people experience Mediterranean food at scale.
“We took the time to get this right, from sourcing to preparation, so it delivers on both flavor and quality in a way that feels true to who we are,” he said.
The salmon fillet is marinated in a house-made pomegranate glaze and roasted until caramelized and flaky.
Houston, Texas, U.S.A.-headquartered Logan’s Roadhouse, which operates more than 115 restaurants, has also rolled out new seafood options as part of an updated spring menu that includes Sweet Chili Lime Salmon and Coconut Shrimp Dinner.
“Spring is the perfect time to bring fresh flavors to the table,” Logan’s Roadhouse Vice President of Marketing Shawn Van Winkle said. “From lighter seafood options for Lent to the comfort dishes and seasonal cocktails guests expect from a full Roadhouse experience, this menu offers something for every appetite and every budget.”
Meanwhile, Texas de Brazil, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, U.S.A., is touting two seasonal seafood dishes: Moqueca de Peixe and Grilled Shrimp.
Moqueca de Peixe is a traditional seafood stew “that captures the essence of Brazil's coastal cuisine,” the restaurant chain said. It features white cod simmered in a coconut milk broth infused with garlic, peppers, and a fragrant blend of herbs and spices.
Its new flame-grilled shrimp is marinated with garlic, oregano, and a hint of cayenne for a “gentle kick.”
“Grilled to perfection over an open flame, each bite delivers juicy flavor and smoky char – a tribute to Brazil's grilling heritage,” the company said.
Outside of the restaurant sector, furniture retailer IKEA’s U.S. stores are rolling out a haddock fish ball to celebrate Earth Day on 22 April.
IKEA’s new dish supports the global retailer’s work “toward creating more sustainable and resilient food systems,” the company said.
“All wild‑caught fish and shrimp served and sold at IKEA come from fisheries independently certified to Marine Stewardship Council standards, helping to support healthier oceans, protect marine ecosystems, and secure seafood supplies for generations to come,” the retailer said.
An eight-piece fish ball meal, which includes mashed potatoes, green peas, lemon dill sauce, lingonberry jam, and a lemon wedge, starts at USD 6.99 (EUR 5.93), “offering customers an affordable and responsibly sourced seafood choice,” IKEA said.
